Who is Alison?
Alison, the founder and sole French teacher at Frenchie Alice, is in her thirties and has been passionate about languages and foreign cultures from a very young age. Born and raised in France, Alice comes from an Italian immigrant family, growing up in a culturally rich environment. Although her first name is English, it was a popular trend in France during the ’90s. It is for this reason that she inherited an English name. While « Alice » seems more French and is one of her nicknames, it was only natural for her to use it when promoting her French learning program, « Frenchie Alice. »

What sparked Alison’s love for travel?
With her multicultural background, Alison developed a passion for travel early on. At the age of 16, she had the incredible opportunity to live in Germany for six months and host a young German girl in return. She also spent a year in North Dakota, USA, during her senior year of high school as part of an exchange program, before working as an au pair in Spain for a year. Each experience deepened her appreciation for different cultures and languages, and she was welcomed warmly everywhere she went.

How has Alison’s professional journey evolved?
Alison’s career path led her to work in the education sector and with international school programs. She always had the dream of one day opening her own school. After obtaining a degree in assistance, she continued to teach and tutor students from a young age. Today, Alison is dedicated to sharing her love for the French language with adult learners who have always dreamed of learning French and discovering its culture. Her goal is to inspire curiosity and connection through language, enriching her students’ lives with a deeper understanding of France.

What makes Alison a qualified and experienced French teacher?
Alison has completed the full training program for the Diploma in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (DAEFLE). With over fifteen years of teaching experience, she has been involved in tutoring since a young age, allowing her to develop a deep understanding of language learning. Having already taught French and gained extensive experience in education, this specialized training further strengthens her expertise and enhances her ability to provide high-quality, engaging lessons to her students.

Why does Alison offer French lessons for adults?
Alison has always shared a special connection with learners who bring curiosity, life experience, and a genuine desire to learn. This passion inspired her to create French lessons designed for adults who have always dreamed of learning the language and discovering French culture. One of her fondest memories dates back about 15 years, when she organized a trip for her host family in France. During this experience, she had the joy of introducing them to French traditions, customs, and gastronomy — an experience that deepened her appreciation for sharing her culture with others.
